I uploaded a show with the wrong dates associated to it and in the shn files. Do I need to repost the shns with new md5 data or can I rename the files on the server, and just append the updated MD5 files to the server?

We'd recommend that you re-upload from scratch, and then file an error report on the old show for it to be removed - renaming on the server ends up being very fiddly (and only possible by file-level admins) because we want to ensure file integrity, so we have lots of checksums and mirroring tasks to deal with.
